|“||I can do whatever I what. I'm President of the Goddamn United States of America!||”|
Richard Milhous Nixon was the 37th president of the United States from January 20, 1969 to August 9, 1974.
In a flashback of the episode " The Shot" Secretariat makes a deal with Nixon to send Secretariat's brother to Vietnam instead. When the film being made about Secretariat cuts out the scene with Nixon making the deal, BoJack Horseman, the lead star, and Kelsey Jannings sneak to the Nixon Museum, and film the scene. The reason it was cut out is because it was too dark and gritty, and the film was changed to be more family friendly. Lenny Turteltaub, the producer of the film was not happy about them sneaking around behind his back, and fired Kelsey.
A security guard at the Nixon Museum claims to be Richard Nixon's son. He wanted to play Richard Nixon in a film but BoJack and Kelsey lied to him, telling him he would be a part of the film but in actual fact they were never going to use that footage with the security guard in it in the film. They simply fabricated it so the police would not be called.
In Season 3 of Horsin' Around, the character of The Horse was elected president, and filmed a lot at the Nixon Museum.
- Checkers was a real dog owned by Richard Nixon.
